Privacy Policy - Meter Games

Meter Games, operated by Ryan Morov ("we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to all Meter Games applications: Parker, Slice Stack, StudySnap, Pit Wall, and Cipher. We operate out of Quebec, Canada and comply with Quebec Law 25, PIPEDA, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA.

1. Data We Collect, by App

Slice Stack — No personal data collected. No analytics, no ads. Purchases handled entirely by Google Play.

Parker — Unity Analytics (opt-in only, disabled by default). If you opt in: anonymous gameplay data (level completion times, crash locations) and a generated installation ID. No names, emails, or location data.

StudySnap — Local-first. All data stored on your device. If you provide an OpenAI API key, it is encrypted and stored locally, sent only to OpenAI to generate content, never to us.

Pit Wall — No personal data collected. Client-side only; fetches public data from external APIs.

Cipher — See section 2 below.

2. Cipher — Data Practices

Data stored on your device (never transmitted to us):

Puzzle progress, completion history, solve times
Per-puzzle notes (text you write in the notes field for any puzzle)
Streaks, stats, hint token balance
Notification preferences and reminder time
Pro subscription status

Local game data may also be included in Android's automatic device backup if you have device backup enabled on your Android device. This backup is stored in your Google account and is controlled by your own Google account settings, not by us.

Data shared with third parties:

Google AdMob (free version only): May collect your Advertising ID, device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data to serve personalized advertisements. Users who have purchased Pro (monthly, yearly, or lifetime) or Ad-Free see no ads and are not subject to AdMob data collection. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Play Billing: Subscription and one-time purchase transactions are processed by Google Play. We do not store payment information. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Play Games (users signed into Google Play Games only): Achievement progress, including puzzles solved, streak milestones, and solve speed records, is synced to your Google account. This data is managed by Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.

What we do not collect: We collect no analytics, require no account, and never collect your name, email, or location.

3. Advertising and Consent

Cipher's free version displays personalized advertisements via Google AdMob. Depending on your location:

EEA / UK (GDPR): On first launch you will be shown a consent form. You may consent to personalized ads or opt out; non-personalized ads will be shown if you decline.
California (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to opt out of the "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Use the Privacy Choices / Ad Preferences option in Cipher's Settings screen at any time.
All other regions: Personalized ads are shown by default.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

Data stored locally in Cipher is retained on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data. We hold no server-side copies of your game data.

6. Children's Privacy

Our applications are General Audience apps. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it promptly.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access: Request what data is held about you.
Deletion: Request deletion of your data.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
Opt-out (Parker): Revoke analytics consent in-game at any time.
Opt-out (Cipher ads): Use the Privacy Choices option in Settings.
GDPR (EEA/UK): Rights of access, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
CCPA (California): Right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sharing.

8. Policy Updates

When this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last Updated" date and version number above. Cipher will prompt you to review and re-accept the updated policy on your next launch.
